    USB Ports Not Working

    Hey there
Basically, I was just using my comp as normal, went to bed, got up, turned on pc and all of my usb ports weren't working, checked device manager they all had ! next to them, thought ok, il simply uninstall and reinstall and i should be fine. This was not the case, they just keep going back to the same state after reinstalling. Any ideas?
    Cheers

    1. BIOS change (on its own mysteriously)
    2. Fault in Southbridge
    3. Fault in USB Controller (May be part of Southbridge)
    4. Malware

I would suspect hardware though, to be honest.

I had the same problem the other day. Uninstall the drivers and reboot fixed it.

I'm glad I was wrong. Great that you got it fixed without a hardware problem. :)

Very good. The upper/lower filter problem used to be a big problem for optical drives in Vista. I had not seen that since a long time and never for USB drives. Good to know that this is a possibility for USBs too.
