Replaced Ram, seek Expert advice if it's working to Maximum Potential

Hello,

I replaced/upgraded the Ram on a backup laptop I have.

The laptop is a TOSHIBA A205-S7468 (not the C855-S5214 on my specs).

I upgraded from 2G to 4G with 2 - G Skill 2G modules. I know enough to replace them, but not nearly enough to know if they are working absolutely correct and the settings are maximizing their capabilities.

I've seen on the Forum that 32 bit systems can only utilize 3G of any RAM. True or False??

Are there any other settings in the BIOS or within Windows7 that can be altered/adjusted to correctly set the RAM?

I will add screenshots of my System and the RAM below. THANK YOU FOR ANY AND ALL HELP/ADVICE!!!

Yes, a 32 bit OS can only address 4GB, leaving about 3.0 to 3.2 GB of useable RAM after all of the hardware resources are mapped. This may go up or down slightly depending on the system configuration. What you're seeing is normal for your system.

Laptop BIOS probably doesn't have any setting you can use to set your RAM. Not much to set really. It's mostly plug and play.

If you are concerned about the RAM not working correctly, you could always use Memtest86+ and let it go about 8 passes to rule out any issues.

@Mellon Head

I ran Memtest86+, ran 12 passes. no errors. Ram seems fine. Just a 7 yr old, spinning disk laptop.....slow, but running well.

Thanks for your help!
