installed second processor in hp xw9300 now windows won't boot

    More likely that the specs of the two different RAM sticks did not match. All specs must match in order to avoid problems. The timings are important, but the RAM voltage is crucial.

    Is the ram buffered or non buffered and what is required with this dual cpu setup?

    That`s sweet, please post all your specs when you`ve got in straightened out.

    You want every stick to be exactly the same for best reults :)

    What is the maximum amount the board can handle ?

    You should try to get at least 16 GB on it.
