    Second HDD disappearing

    Hello,
Using Asus x55c, after upgrading with SSD, i did place my old TOSHIBA HDD to dvd slot with icy box caddy.
Happens randomly my HDD disappears, sometimes while in use of windows, most of the time it randomly doesn't boot and is not shown neither bios or windows. I've had replaced SSD to the caddy and had no problems so far, but loosing half the speed because of the SATA2 connection. Let's say booting or restarting, 3-4 times of the 5 will be fine.

Bios, drivers - up to date.
Connections are fine, did reseating, replacing. In the original slot HDD works perfectly. I have assumption it might be something connected with sata 2 connection. But no ideas are coming for the fixing way.
    SSD - samsung 850 evo.

There was similar problems, but no the same, old thread's solutions were tryied and did not work.

    Hello Thomas9!

It could easily be the caddy/HDD not making a good connection and the slower SATA II helping for that. I would suggest you checking the drive's health and making sure it's connected correctly and firmly in its second slot.

If this doesn't work out and you are sure the drive's in good health, you could get an enclosure and use the drive externally.

    Cheers!
