device settings tab missing — Windows 7

Hi all. I'm trying to make an adjustment to my mouse properties settings which requires going into the "device settings" tab, which seems to be missing. I've included a screenshot showing where the device settings tab should be and a screenshot of 'my' mouse properties showing that the device settings tab is missing.
Does anyone know of a solution to this problem. Preferably a link to a driver that restores this option (and the correct procedure for installing it).
I'm running Windows 7 home premium on a Dell n5050 laptop with an Alps pointing device.I believe I have the latest driver already installed (screenshot) .
I need the tab to make adjustments to my touchpad, not an external mouse. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Hi ... Install the latest Chipset Driver from the Link below ... Then Install the Driver for your touch-pad ...

Both Versions of the Drivers are dated 2013 ...

device settings tab missing — Windows 7

Thank you for your timely response. I installed the latest chipset and touchpad drivers from the link you provided, then restarted the computer. Unfortunately I still do not have the device settings tab in my mouse properties.
The reason I need that device settings tab is because I'm trying to turn off the syn edge motion. I do a lot of art painting in GIMP and every time my finger gets close to the edge of the touchpad the paintbrush ( cursor ) takes off on its own and smears the canvas.
Do you (or anyone) have another suggestion on how to get the device settings tab installed in my mouse pointer options, or at least how to turn off or disable edge motion without it. Thanks,Jim
