i have a windows 7 starter, when i turned it on this morning, it says
"windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change might be the cause'
i got the option lunch startup repair and start windows normally.

    Try normally first.
No experience with starter, can you get to advanced boot options (f8 menu)? Try last known good configuration if so. If that fails try startup repair (up to 3 times with a reboot in between each).
