    drive is not able to recognize any CD/DVDs


    hello!My name is Hasnain.Suddenly I have a problem with my computer.My PC drive is not able to recognize any CD/DVDs.But my computer was able to recognize any type of CD/DVDs before this situation.I also try Windows Repair Tool but all in vain.Please help me to solve this problem.Is my Pc drive lens become weak?please I am waiting for your help.

    Hello and welcome Hasnain sorry you had to wait so long but in a nutshell my friend just replace the optical drive - very simple and not expensive at all - depending on what you buy ie a Blu ray will cost more than a normal red laser drive.

    Having said first up you could try running a cleaning disk in that drive it could just be a dirty lens as you say but don't try doing it by hand as you may knock the gear out of alignment. Oh and check the cables are all snugly in place on the drive and the board.
