    HP/Windows7/External HHD problems

Could anyone please help with the following, although apologies for repeating what must have been asked many times before although I've not yet found solutions.

I have a HP HDX16 with Window 7 newly installed and 2* WD My Book Home (2tb) and have come across the following issues:

    1) the inabilty to retain eSATA connection with external HHDs
    2) the inabilty to restart the laptop with the HDDs connected via USB. Although I can shut down and then boot up again I can just restart, pedantic of me I know but very annoying now. It just gets to the point of having 'windows' on the screen but never the logo and booting just stops
    3) the inabilty to get firewire to be anything other than useless

    4) how do I get the tone controls on the touch buttons not to just display rubbish with the latest drivers?

    5) Has everyone else found the updated NVIDIA control panel to be useless?

The Bios is F.31 (showing the abilty to boot from USB HDD but not disable it) which was flashed under Vista prior to a custom installation of W7 and the device manager shows no issues issues regarding drivers etc.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge, any help gratefully received.

    Regards

    Freamon

Hi Freamon. Sorry, I dont have any answers to your questions. I havent come across any of those problems, still havent started using Windows 7. But I've ordered a HDX16, its due tomorrow. How do you find the laptop? What views do you have about it? Shortfalls? Advantages? Any tips. When I receive the laptop I will try see if i experience the same issues. But it comes with windows vista, so i will have to upgrade it. How long did it take for you to receive your free upgrade? Thanks and goodluck with solving your problems..

    Win 7 uprgade

I didn't get the free upgrade, had to buy it as I bought the laptop last December.

The computer is ok but 64bit support from companies is not as good as it should be despite it hardly not being a new thing.
