Sudden Slow PC Shutdown

Hi,

About 2 months ago (possibly after a Windows Update...) my PC suddenly started to shut down very slowly. It normally took under 30 seconds (max) but now it's taking around 2 minutes or more to shut down. I've tried booting in safe mode (had to do this through msconfig.exe as for some reason F8 wouldn't work :L) but there was no difference, leading me to believe that it might be a hardware issue (but I'm not sure). I just changed my case, so all my components have been cleaned etc and there's no problem with wiring etc. Does anyone know what can cause this to occur, and any fixes for it?

Have you done any major change in you hardware, like change the RAM, mother board, HDD, or ... . I guess No. Then hardware is not the reason to change the speed of the shouting down.

It may be because of your windows update as you told. But some times may not.
Some times it may be another application you recently installed.

No hardware changes. I uninstalled all the Windows Updates all the way to before the issue began, and the situation did not change, and I've also done safe mode but the issue did not resolve itself.

Try reinstalling AV, restart after uninstall to see if it helped.
