    Seagate Portable 500GB Not Recognized

It works on my other PC which is also windows 7 but does not work on my alienware laptop...

Reformatted to FAT32 from NTFS but still the same...

It recognizes my other fat32 usb stick...

Uninstalled driver and tried re-installed but device manager cannot find drivers through windows update or by searching c:\windows...

Does not show up in disk management at all...

When I connect it makes the device not recognized sound...

Before doing the below, try other USB ports on laptop.

    Try:
    - remove Seagate from PC
    - restart
    - run DriveCleanup as admin - Drive Tools for Windows
    - restart
    - plug in Seagate try to install

If that fails try deleting USB upper/lower filters: How to Delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters Registry Values

Also tell us whether other External drives/pen drives are recognised by your default PC.
