    Laptop not discovering bluetooth speaker

I am attempting to pair my Oontz Angle Plus bluetooth speaker to my laptop, but the laptop won't discover the device. I am able to pair easily with my cell phone (LG G3, Android) and my wife's laptop (Dell on Windows 8), but my laptop doesn't even see it. I have looked into the computer's bluetooth settings and I have checked the following boxes:

"Allow Bluetooth decives to find this computer"
"Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer"
"Alert me when a new Bluetooth device wants to connect"
"Show the Bluetooth icon in the notification area"

I went into Bluetooth settings to see if the Generic Bluetooth Adapter or the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator needed updating. Windows says they don't need updating.

I made sure my speaker was in pairing mode. Like I said, it worked flawlessly and quickly with the other two devices I've tried it on, but not my laptop.

I am running an HP ProBook 450 G1. HELP!!!

    Thanks for your consideration.

I do have a WiFi button, but it is always on. There have been rare moments when I switched it off, but the default is on. So I'm not sure whether that article helps me. By the way, I do not have a Bluetooth button on the keyboard nor a hardware Bluetooth on/off switch on the laptop.
