Mouse lag/spazzing out when moving the cursor really fast

I have a mouse that works completely fine on my laptop and even when moving the cursor really fast, there is no skipping or any problems at all. The tracking is good and smooth. However, when I plug the mouse into my pc, it works fine when moving the cursor slowly, but when I move it quickly, the cursor just goes crazy and skips all across the screen.

I have also tested this with other mice and it seems like the mice work fine on my laptop, but go crazy on my pc...Could the problem be my pc and not the mice?????

    Help is greatly needed!!!!

FYI 'spaz' is considered highly offensive in the UK.

The Spastics Society changed its name to Scope in 1994 because their original name was becoming a term of abuse. Paralympian Dame Tanni Grey Thompson, representatives from the Disability Rights Commission and Scope condemned Tiger Woods when he used the term after losing at the US Masters.

as for the mouse on different computers, try control panel, mouse, pointer options, pointer speed
