Hard Disk Reallocated sector count 2

    Hello

I am having troubles with hard drives nowadays lol

I got a seagate 1000GB HDD and I started hearing noise after few days

Replaced it with another new one, and I heard some sounds after 4 days of using it

    so I tested it using:

    CrystalDisk
    Seagate seatool
    HD sentinel

the tests say that everything is fine except that it has 2 reallocated sectors

CrystalDisk gave me a Caution with 2 bad sectors

HD sentinel says health is excellent 98% with 2 bad sectors

Seagate tool says there r no problems at all

How can I fix those 2 bad sectors??? I am tired of replacing it and re-installing windows and drivers and my progs so I am trying to fix thos 2 bad sectors on my own

    Hello lebdorz!

You actually can't fix bad sectors. You can isolate them so that the system doesn't write to them, but once bad sectors occur they continue to do so and the drive eventually degrades completely. Although, only two bad sectors is not that dangerous or bad even.

Your three softwares have concluded that the drive is healthy. Besides, it's normal for drives to make sounds. Some of them are bad news, but drives make sound at spin up, spin down, at intensive read/writing processes, they are soft windy sounds, not high pitched.

So in my opinion if you keep back ups of that drive and don't see any performance issues, you are good to go and continue use it. :)
