"The system cannot find the file specified."

It just gives me a message "The system cannot find the file specified." when selecting change drive letter or path. I have tried plugging the same flash (Transcend 16GB) on Windows 7 and worked no need to change anything it just shows autoplay open folder to view files. Then tried on three different PC's running Windows 10 and still no luck here. Other USB devices functions normally even other usb drives but this one...... tried the same drive on android phone and Samsung tv it works correctly no probs anywhere else except Windows 10. could someone help me I already tried more options than needed even reinstalled windows from scratch.

Any Autorun files in root of Transcend? Right click - edit/open if so and see what comes up.

GokAy the flash drive is empty I have formatted it on windows 7 pc I have enabled show hidden files and folders but still no autorun.ini there

https://i.imgur.com/b9Iqeu0.png this is my problem btw

I think there is a problem in Windows 10 I think because the flash drive works on every other device

I just checked on android device it has a TRANSCEND folder in" TRANSCEND\System Volume Information\EfaData\" there is a "SYMEFA.DB" file I can't remove this folder because flash drive is now in NTFS.(on android devices NTFS is read-only) I think this file was created when changing a letter on Windows 7 https://i.imgur.com/BNvf0Xl.png

I connected other flash drive drive There is a "System Volume Information" folder which does not show up in any way in Windows.

Sys vol is a Windows folder. Try unhiding "protected system files" as well. It shouldn't be the problem though.

When exactly are you getting this error? As soon as opening drive letter window or when you hit apply? Have you been triying to change to the same letter? Does it work if you try changing to something else?

When I right-click and press change dirve letter or path. the same happens when trying to format nothing works

Yes unhiding protected system files works to unhide that hidden folder

But that does not solve the not connecting problem my Transcend still does not get a letter and does not show up in my computer and it doesn't have autorun.ini

Try zeroing the drive with imageusb (may or may not help) - Tools for OSForensics - ImageUSB - Write an image to multiple USB Flash Drives

    Thanks GokAy,
That worked flawlessly. I have my USB Stick fixed.

What I done was go to Windows 7 running PC and runned imageUSB software and zeroed my device it took about 20 minutes. Then reconnected my USB Flash Drive and it asked to format clicked ok. Then went back to Windows 10 PC plugged in the USB Drive and it connected immediately.

Thank you very much. You just helped me to save 10€ on new USB :)
