Windows 7: CHKDSK Keeps Wanting To Run at Every Boot

What is most likely causing the problem (I know because this happened to me!) is that Win10 has something called FastStartup turned ON by default. That means when you shut down Win10, any volumes you were accessing at the time remain MOUNTED! Thus, when you go back into Win7, any attempt to access those volumes will result in filesystem corruption.

That certainly explains it, Mark. Does the same setting apply in Win 8.1?
