A USB2.0 Port Doesn't Recognize Devices Plugged In Anymore

A few days ago, a friend of mine rammed his office chair to the side of my USB stick breaking it and additionally caused a physical trauma the USB port it was plugged in (on the front panel).

When I tried connecting my phone to my PC on the same USB port, its storage icon does not appear in My Computer; however my phone is capable of receiving charge. When I plugged into the USB port beside it, the device is recognized and appears on My Computer.

Is there any way to make the USB port that received physical trauma recognize device again? Or is that port doomed?

From your description of what happened, it's very likely the USB port is damaged. There are a number if connectors in the port & some are probably forced out of line. If the USB port is attached directly to the motherboard replacement would be a specialists job. Your picture seems to indicate it is probably on the front panel of the case. You would need to open the case & have a look & see if the USB port assembly can be replaced & if it can you would then have to find one that will fit the case.

In the meantime it would be best not to use it for anything at all.

Your pictures really don't give much idea where the damaged USB port is. Is it on the front panel or is it one on the ones on the back panel.
If it's one of the back panel USBs then it looks like it is connected directly to the motherboard.
There are no USB 3 on that motherboard from the description HP has for that board. It seems there are 6 USB ports, 1 for the mouse & 1 for the keyboard & 4 USB 2.0 ports.

It would probably be best to take the computer into a specialist shop & get them to repair it for you.

The specs on your PC says it supports USB 2.0 only. Since the front panel also includes a card reader and audio in/out, there will be several different connectors. The card reader and USB ports are probably connected to a USB Hub header on the motherboard. It could be a single connector or two separate connectors but they are both USB. The audio will have a different connector.

To replace the front panel, you'll need to open the PC and check to see what type of connectors are used by HP. You can check with HP and see if a replacement panel is available. Trying to repair a single USB port is best left to a technician. It will require unsoldering and soldering on a very delicate printed circuit board.

You just did. I don't understand what you are asking. Those are the USB header connectors on the motherboard. The USB signal cable connects to the header connector. Your front panel contains the USB sockets that you use to insert USB devices.
