IDE Cable on top of condensers..?

    Hello!

After having put new hardware into my pc last weekend, whick one of them was a ASUS HD5870 (Big card) i laid my IDE cable from the dvd rom over the card. But i was wondering about one thing..

Since this huge flat cable also goes right in front of the fan i wonderer if it was possible to lay this flat cable below the Graphics card, along the top of the condensers. Would this become a issue? Do they become so warm that they can melt the cable, or what?

Because, if they don't, i'll put the IDE Cable below the graphics card instead. :) I've put together a picture showing how it is today, i wan't this IDE cable along the motherboard under the graphicscard, if it's possible. :)

I wouldn't worry. Nothing there is cause for any type of concern. The fan on the gpu seems to have good air access.

If anything, see if you could gently move the cable to the right a little bit, in the picture.

    Enjoy the new hardware!

Ok, thanks. But isn't there a possibility to lay the cable under the graphicscard? Would it be a heat problem?

Reason i wonder is because i about to buy a NOCTUA NH-U12P SE1366 cpu fan, and also a fan at the rear of the cabinet. And then by moving the IDE calble under the graphics card i would guess the airflow will become a little better...? :)

It really doesn't matter, either way, it will be fine, it's really personal choice.

You can buy rounded IDE cables (I have one on my system connected to my DVD drives).
