    Replaced CPU windows won't boot

Hi guys, just replaced my CPU Intel i5 4460 with Intel pentium G3258 and I can't boot into windows,I can see the new CPU in BIOS just when I power it says starting repair and then just goes in BIOS, if I go to boot from HDD says to insert disc... Any help? Is it possible to boot somehow from my last windows or I have to do a fresh install?

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
I've often wondered what would happen if a cpu is upgraded what would happen

If you have an install disk you might try startup repair

Although I have read a reinstall is needed but it was never verified by someone I might trust that has been through the upgrade

When you replaced the CPU, did you reset all BIOS defaults before the switch, and did you reset all BIOS defaults after the switch?

This is necessary when replacing a CPU, to reset the CMOS data for booting.

You could recover by doing a reset of defaults now, or perform a ClearCMOS procedure to reset everything.
