ZFS Backup Hard Drive for NTFS files/Windows user ?

    Hello

My WD20EZRX (2TB Green) is coming tomorrow and I've decided to enchance data integrity by using ZFS since it will be sitting in the closet and I'll be running scrub every few months to keep the data in check, since scrub scans the whole drive, not just the metadata like chkdsk in windows.

However I know Windows 7 can't natively support ZFS, I'm wondering what kind of flowpath is out there to make this more faster, I have a lot of files to transfer and a lot of sorting to do, I don't want to waste time resorting stuff since I have all my drives full I don't have much spare space.

What about running linux as VM, possible to transfer files like that, so i can make live sorting in windows, just tab into linux, transfer, and go to the next batch.

I do have ability to put up linux ... right now I have Linux Mint on another separate hdd test but I haven't used it much so I can overwrite that partition, any ideas or linux mint is fine?

It's quite possible that I'm missing something here, but couldn't you just use Windows in the virtual machine?
