SSD missing on warm boot (can't start Windows)

My PC has two disks - an SSD for the C: drive, and a SATA for data. I applied the August 2015 patches for Win 7 Home Premium tonight, and my PC began the restart process but did not complete. Instead I got the "Reboot and Select Proper Boot device" message. I read the tips on Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times and had an interesting discovery:

When I cold boot, my SSD and SATA drives are listed in the BIOS boot order options screen
When I warm boot, only the SATA drive is listed in the BIOS boot order options screen. I can go into the Hard Drive section of the BIOS and change it, but still can't start Windows.

Looking at diskpart from a cold boot shows the proper partition is active.

Any ideas? This one is throwing me for a curve.

Hello MidwestSteve. Welcome to the Forum

First, please post a screenshot of your Disk Management window, expanded so we can read everything, top and bottom.

Then try this test: disconnect the "SATA for data" drive (just unplug the SATA data cable) and see if the PC boots normally cold and warm that way, and tell us what you find.

No luck with booting just from the SSD.

I contacted OCZ (manufacturer of the SSD) and they agreed to replace the drive since it is under warranty.

Until then try to load defaults in BIOS (better yet clear CMOS, check motherboard manual for how to).
