Fake ebay Nvidia card sold as GT630, but it is not

    https://picasaweb.google.com/1052489...September32015
I took some pics that show the card has been shut down by windows.

I could not get the card to work as a GT630 in either Windows or Linux, so I opened a case for a return.
I was wondering if anyone else has ever seen such a thing?
Is there a utility to expose the flaw or the fraud? It came with a driver disk, but I think it is also a fake somehow as the card does not work properly as a GT630 should.

Drivers from Nvidia fail to install at all is the problem.

There is a driver disc that will install an old driver. But it is not upgradeable from Nvidia. Install an upgraded driver and it fails.

I ran it and generated an Nvidia report

    'File name 341.44-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-32bit-international-whql.exe'

Woah, im not experienced with nvidia just amd. Does it fail to install saying there isn't a card? Check your dot net runtimes ect. Maby the installer requires dot net and there's an issue preventing installation. Does it even detect the card, has any damage been done to windows before hand? And nvidia cards dont support Linux fully anyway.

    Hello sdowney717,

Please, download latest version of Display Driver Uninstaller, run it from safe mode and remove all NVIDIA, AMD, INTEL display drivers from your system.
Restart the computer and install latest nVidia GeForce display drivers (355.82 at this moment).
You will need x64 version of driver, if you are running 64-bit operating system, for example, this http://uk.download.nvidia.com/Window...ional-whql.exe
Let us know, if it will successfully install.

P.S.: "international" only means, there are all languages included in the package and your system default language will be selected automatically.

A driver to Linux is just a driver actually
Driver manager should offer a few different drivers for NVidia products,
If Linux has an issue it's most likely the gpu's bios are messed up by using a bios hack and just failed badly :/
Which Linux might be able to fix it but is it worth it to search for on obviously a meager card from ebay ?
Send it back to whom ever you bought it from.
