The seller graciously refunded me, so solved for now. I bought a Galaxy GT 640.

I need a video card for a pc which has a vga port since the monitor is only vga. And a high end card usually drops that port. I also like Nvidia cards. It does not need to be a gaming card. But does need to show good 2d performance as I run OpenCpn on it which has tons of graphics can be thrown up on the screen and a slow card makes screen refreshes horribly slow when the position moves. Where the builtin PC mounts, there is little room or I could use a dvi to vga adapter. Alternative would be to use HDMI, but then the monitor have to be changed, so I am constrained somewhat on what I can use.

90* angled cable adapters are available on ebay, the way the builtin PC mounts in it's space, it needs the video cable to angle or the drawer in front can not close, you know how much a video cable sticks out the back of the pc. My vga cable has a 90* right angle bend where it plugs into the vga port, so everything easily fits well even with big stiff bulky video cables.

The builtin PC functions as a navigation computer so needs to display high quality ECN charts in a boat.
And you dont want some slow card running since that can compromise your use of the system. That card even crashed a few times the PC, not good if your running and dont want to end up with a boat wreck when it hit the bottom etc... cause you cant stay on track since you no longer know where you are.

    Hello again,

I am glad you could get a refund.
Since you already purchased another card, the following information is not so important, but still.
Almost every GT card has VGA port, even new Gigabyte GeForce GT 740 and if I would buy one, then 7xx series or later.
My old XFX GeForce 7900 GS had a DVI-to-VGA adapter in package (see attachment) and I don't think it would be hard and expensive to find one, but they support only DVI-I ports. If you plan using one, make sure video card has DVI-I port.

    Good luck!

I have a dvi to vga adapter, but still I would need the right angle adapter or it just will not fit in the space constraints.

I was wondering if an adapter could fit at the monitor.
So say run a DVI angled adapter off video card, then a DVI cable to monitor, then a DVI to VGA adapter at the monitor.

HDMI would fit a lot easier as the cable and plug are much smaller, you can get angled HDMI adapters. I think if the monitor ever has to be changed, I would go with HDMI and skip DVI.

But what I have with my current angled VGA cable works fine and why spend more money right now.
