Touchscreen doesn't work after downgrading to Windows 7

Hello, recently i downgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 7. I have a HP Pavilion laptop model 15-p220nr. I installed drivers from Intel website and also tried drivers from HP. Touchscreen is not working. When i go to control panel > system and security>system . under pen and touch I see: no pen or touch is available for this display. Under windows 8.1 touchscreen worked very good and i would hate to lose this feature.. Thanks for your help.

Why did you regress to Windows 7?

I think your best bet is to go back to Windows 8.1, install Classic Shell and take the time to get used to it. With Classic Shell it's not that different than Windows 7.

Or upgrade to Windows 10. It'sw easier to use than Windows 8.1, sort of a combo of 7 and 8.1.

I want to give that laptop for my parents and it is not as easy for people who accustomed using something to change their habits... So if i have a choice touchscreen vs. win 7 I would choose win 7. Anyway I hope to find a solution to it. Many machines run win 7 and touchscreen works fine.

Agreed, both resistance to change and Win 7 working with Touch. I did some more searching on Google and many people report Touch working okay with Windows 7.

All I can suggest is to try other drivers?

You said you got the driver(s) from Intel, right? Do you have a link you can post.
Does the computer have a Intel motherboard?
