    your recommendation for a firewire addon card for an Asus z87pro mobo


    Hi team,

    I am looking for your recommendation for a firewire addon card for an Asus z87pro mobo. I wish to attach a firewire Tc Electronic Powercore FireWire Rack Mount. if any of you out there have this mobo and are happily running a firewire device via a firewire card. please let me know which fw addon card you are using an what your experience is when using it/problems , etc.

    I can't recommend a specific card, but whatever you end up with it should have a T.I. Firewire chipset. Most audio equipment works best (or only works) with a T.I. Chipset.

    If you look at any of the recording forums, the T.I. chipset is always recommended.

If I add a usb 3.0 add-on card to my desktop will I loose any speed on the card or would the bus speed of the pci slot make any difference one way or another.
