Anyone tell me if my RAM's right,

Can anyone tell me if mines right?

    Four slots, 2GB in each.

    slot #1: PC2-6400 (400 MHz).
    slot #2: PC2-6400 (400 MHz).
slot #3: PC2-6400 (400 MHz). (originally 1066MHz but motherboard will only go up to goes up to 667MHz)
slot #4: PC2-6400 (400 MHz). (originally 1066MHz but motherboard will only go up to goes up to 667MHz)

Says over 6GB of memory cached, is that good or bad?

edit; my motherboard specs here, if I have 1066MHz ram will it run at a max of 667Mhz?

Neither. All that means is 6Gb of RAM is currently used to store recently used data so if the system needs it again, it will be readily (and rapidly) available. If a new call requires different data, that 6Gb (or a portion of it) will quickly be dumped to make room.

You have 8Gb installed and your system is reporting all 8Gb. That's a good thing.

As far as your RAM speed, faster RAM can only run as fast as the system carrying it. So, yes, it slows down - that's normal.

So, all looks good to me.
