DVD drive doesn't show up

    flaggoz, just because the drive spins up when a disc is inserted has nothing to do with your PC recognizing the drive. The drive is not communicating with your MOBO at this time, but the drives internal electronics seem to be functioning. Definitely time to unplug and reconnect the drive at both the drive and the MOBO.

    P.S. Use an anti-static wrist band to chassis cable to prevent static damage to your computer.

I just built a computer and I have a 64GB Crucial M4 SSD as my primary drive and a 500GB WD Caviar Blue as my secondary drive.
