    DVD drive doesn't show up

    Hello there!
Few days ago I wanted to install some software from a CD. I inserted the disc and nothing happened.
Then I checked under My Computer and I saw that the DVD drive is missing from there. After that I checked Device Manager, didn't see a DVD drive under there either. I did some research, found a fix where I had do edit registry, deleting "Upperfilters" and "Lowerfilters" or something like that. I tried to do that, but when I found the key in registry, I didn't see those "filters". I haven't found any other fixes so I thought I'll ask for your help here. Any suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks!

Have you checked the cables and connectors? It could be something simple like a loose/faulty SATA cable.

Well, when I insert a disc, it starts spinning like it would normally, just my pc doesnt detect it, idk.
I removed the back few days ago, so I could see if there's anything disconnected or so. Didn't really see anything. Also I don't really want to remove the DVD drive, not that good with computers, I might fk up somehow.

We really need to eliminate whether or not it's a faulty cable. You can't do that without removing the cable or swapping it for another one just to try it out.
Have you checked your BIOS settings to see if it's being picked up in your BIOS? If not then it's definitely a faulty cable or the drive is faulty.
If it's displaying in your BIOS then that points to an issue within Windows.

You'll need to find the model number of your pc and Google how to enter the BIOS. It will involve holding a particular key when powering on the pc. This varies depending on the make and model. Sometimes it's the delete key or a particular function key.

Look under the SATA section and see if the DVD drive is showing up.

Didnt find anything related to sata. The only thing related to dvd drive was just booting from dvd.
