USB port surge?
I have a Lenovo laptop with 4 USB ports.
Recently I've attached a (probably malfunctioning) USB charger to one of the USB ports and Windows prompted that a "Power surge occurred on a USB port..." and I should remove the USB device.
I found the correct USB driver for it, "Intel 3.0 USB eXtensible Host Controller".
After installing the driver, the USB port starts to work normally.
However, the USB port next to it, is not working at all anymore.
The problem is that after reboot, Windows says that the USB port cannot be started and I have to reinstall the driver if I want to use it.
My question are:
- is that USB hub burned?
- is there anyway to bypass the Windows verification of that port and let it in the state in which was before shutdown?
Thanks
