Telus router blocking website and windows update.

I've discovered my telus router t1200h is blocking windows update, causing an error code 80072ee2 when I check for updates. It is also blocking another forum I like to visit as well. There should be no reason it is blocking anything as I don't have parental controls set up. When I unplug the internet from the router and stick it straight into my PC everything works again. So, clearly it is my router.

Youll have to go into the router
type 192.168.0.1 into the URL bar it will then bring up your router,
password will more than likely be admin, change it.
Have a look at the blocking options and other settings change as required.

note some ISP's block sites with a default setup and the user is required to change them
the most common being under/over 18.

Nothing is being blocked. Everything was working fine just a few weeks ago. I don't know why this started happening. Like I said, hooking up the internet directly to the PC instead of the router fixes the issue, so it is router related.

Try changing DNS at the router ot computer level:

It's not working. I had someone from Telus come over. He replaced the router and it still didn't work. I also have Telus Optik TV, which also needs the internet as there is a wireless access point also hooked up to the router. That will no longer work if I just plug the internet straight into the PC. This is really frustrating me. I have no clue what's going on, and I am no longer sure what exactly is causing the issues.

Two weeks ago, on November 20th, I download updates from windows update that were from a week prior. I uninstalled them to see if that did anything and it didn't. The sites I was having trouble with I can actually access on my PS3, which is hooked up to the same router. Yet I'm still having issues with my PC, which the internet only wants to function properly when it is hooked up without the router. For the most part, the internet is working fine when hooked up to the router, but some sites load very slowly or just time out.

My internet modem has four lan ports, but for some reason I can only get the internet to come out of lan 1. No internet connection is there when I try to hook my PC up to one of the other lan spots.

This is just so weird and frustrating.

    telus router issue

had the same problem. fought with telus for a month. techs kept telling me it was my problem. they were wrong it is there router or something down the line. after spending much time to prove it was there problem they finally installed a switch between my incoming interenet and the router. this fixed the problem but now my extender doesnt work as well. but at least i can update windows. they need to solve the bigger issue. hope this helps.
