Well that's good news Squidald !
It looks like it's the Samsung Software folder using a lot of space that Windows Explorer doesn't show.
You can click on the [+] to the left of the folder icon to expand the folder and "drill down" to see files and folders.

I don't know what that folder is used for, or why it uses so much space , but now you can research what that folder is for.
Maybe you need it or want it, maybe you don't, and can delete it.

I've never seen that folder before on systems i've worked on, so i can't comment on why it's there.

Very interesting.
I have no idea why a Samsung program would use that much space.
Unless it is also making backups.
Squids backup is cloud based and is also using lots of room.

From my post #10

Do you use any Cloud backup programs?

Windows 7 64bit

Seems it was the samsung program had created a back up as well as me manually making one! Speaking of backing up , anybody recommend a good free back up program?

Win7 Ultimate X64

Macrium reflect seems to be quite a popular one round here, its pretty easy to use and is generally quite reliable

WHS has a tutorial for it here - Imaging with free Macrium

ps as mentioned earlier your drive should not be marked active, its not really an issue ATM moment but if you ever reinstall with it connected it could interfere

Partition - Mark as Inactive

Glad you found the problem. Lots of backup.

I agree with Pauly. This is a good tutorial.

I use Macrium, it's not difficult to use and it works.

New PC Build, SSD almost full already, Drive Too Small?
I finally got this new PC at work to replace my one XP machine, and I convinced our IT guy to let me get a SSD drive. It is his first time setting one up with a SSD. I spec'd out a 128GB SSD thinking that would be enough, it also has a standard HD for file storage. With all my programs...

drive space is full and file sizes are low
computer is a HP Pavlion DV 7. Intel core i3. 6 gb ram. have two of the same computers. only difference is, one has a second hard drive (500gb) dedicated for My Documents. The second hard disc gets full, yet adding up the files sizes, the total actual file size is low (~175 gb). The used space was...

Computer shows external drive empty while its not.
HI everyone, Ive been using my WD Elements 1.5TB for quite a while now but I recently had trouble with it. It doesn't show any of the maps I created on it. However if I type the name of the map in the address bars it does reach the map. I use it to store all my programs, games and movies so...

External drive shows as internal
I have a Rosewill RX-DU100 Sata drive dock. Whenever I plug a HD into it on any of my W7 Pc's, it shows up as an internal drive. That's great for me as I use Carbonite and they only backup internal drives. I was wondering why W7 sees it as an internal and I could fool Windows into thinking other...

Hard drive sizes...many small or one big?
I am currently running two 500GB WD hard drives for movie and show backups. I'm getting close to having each filled, so I will need new ones at some point. My original intention was to just stick with 500GB drives so if I have a failure I don't lose everything. However, this is looking like an...
