    Help with the partition

    Hi All,
I installed ubuntu along side windows 7 and everything went well. But when I restart, I dont see the dual boot screen for ubuntu and windows. After googling I realized I have an extra partition (fifth one) on my primary disk. It was a HP_Tools partition (mine is a HP laptop). So anyways, since I already have all the recovery kit discs with me, I deleted HP_Tools partition and unallocated the memory thinking I'd later merge it with the C: drive. But then I don't see the extend volume option accessible on C:drive (It was greyed out). I later I tried "diskpart" on cmd to extend the unallocated HP_tools partition but failed. I've been working on this for 2 days now and I'm really frustrated. Can anyone please help? I'm attaching the screen shots if needed. Thank you.

Hi csk and welcome to sevenforums, I hope you'll enjoy your stay here.

I did some research and I found out that Windows only supports 4 primary partitions and that is why you cannot get it working.

You need to put those 227GB+5GB partitions into one partition and then download and install this: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp61501-62000/sp61632.exe which will install the partition in case you accidentally deleted it.

    Cheers!
    Boris :)
