    27 inch IMAC

know it is a can of worms but the new quad core IMAC with 8 or more gigs of memory really sounds interesting. With fusion 3 install Windows can run at same time with out reboot? I really have no idea but a 27 inch monitor is a bunch and this will also compute. I am interested in feed back ideas critism etc. But first off I am a PC have only played with my moms pumpkin IMAC an old beast. Bring it on
Hey and have a great day.

Couple of thoughts on the iMac

#1). As always, it's a bit expensive. A 2.66ghz core i5 quad core, with 8GB of RAM, 1TB of disk space, an ATI 4850 with 512MB and the 27 monitor is $2200. Bump that to a Core i7 2.8Ghz quad core and it's $2400.

#2). It's an all-in-one design which I've never been particularly fond of. If you want to get a newer computer later, but are still happy with the 27" monitor..you cannot just resuse the monitor. Also, if the monitor or the computer dies...it's effectively rendered the other one useless.

The expence is a point but the system I have bought before 64 bit was the thing is much more then it is now.

The One in all thing is the part that has me slowed down, but wouldn't it be nice to buy something that was engineered designed not like my system that fits in 2 cases sort of, has 2 power supplies because one just was not enough. Really the part that has me worried is the single hard drive very big, like bigger than the 12 in my current system but all in one spot. I don't need blue ray and it ihas just about all I would think of adding to it. I am still thinking.

Convince me either way. 9 degrees out here sunny finally when it came up an hour ago but the foot ball game has my interest. Really I am napping in the sun with the dogs, if it is important there 8is an instant replay. Slow Sunday morning enjoy

Well, if that's the only thing holding you back..I'd just head out to the store or the website now and order it.

Just buy 1 external drive and attach it as a time machine vault. Everything is automatically backed up for you.

Is there any reason you haven't consolidated down 12 hard drives just a little bit??? I can understand 2 drives...or maybe 3....but anything more just seems like unnecessary cabling, heat and power consumption.

Photos and documents are are seperate drives, actually photos fill 2 drives and are on a third, Remember your lap top from several years ago not hat many that had a 30 or 40 gig hard drive, now my tablet has a 320. things are changing
