    need help with new ssd


    I am having trouble running two 250gb solid state drives. Only one shows up in the bios. I am running windows 8.1 x64.

    Now you say it is a new drive so do you mean new as in brand new or just one you have acquired??

    Have you tried using DISKPART to see if it comes up in that?? I am assuming you have looked in disk management too??

    it is brand new. I don't know what diskpart is. tell me how to access disk management, and I'll see if it comes up.

    Does the SSD work OK and just not show in BIOS or does it not work either?

    it does not show in device manager or the bios and it does not work.

    it might be the sata cable that's faulty

    tried different sata cable, and different power connector and still doesn't work.
