Will my new motherboard support Win 7 out of the box?

    MSI Z170-A PRO LGA 1151 Intel Z170 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard - Newegg.com

Disclaimer, I have not bought this mobo yet, but I will next month.

I'm building a new PC that will (hopefully) be able to run the latest games at 60 fps using high/max settings. In anticipation, I bought an install disk for Win 7 professional (64 bit). The mobo I was originally going to get ended up having numerous reviews that said it did not work with Win 7, at least, not without jumping through numerous hoops first. Even then though, it seemed like there was only a small chance of things working the way you want.

So, I looked for another one and found the one that's in the link at the top. I've read up and seen a few reviews about it working with Win 7/8/10 no problem, but I can't be 100% sure.

If this mobo doesn't support Win 7 out of the box, can you recommend me a modern one that will? Here's what the other parts of the build will be like, I need a mobo that can support these:

Intel Core i5-6500, MSI GeForce GTX 970, Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Black) - System Build - PCPartPicker

I was able to find Windows 7 drivers for your board from the manufacturer. Here is their drivers page for your mobo. Take a look:

Looks like it will work to me.

When I bought an MSI for my wife last year it came with 8. Called one of the sales lines to ask about using with 7 instead. Was transferred to tech support and given all info including drivers and BIOS settings to do a clean install with a 7 retail I had. Maybe I hit a good day but the people I spoke with at MSI were very informative and helpful. Might work for you.

Okay, I guess I'll go with the mobo in the OP then. I have a Win 7 (OEM) install disc ( it's genuine too, it has a COA), so I'm glad I don't have to deal with any of this flash drive business. Hopefully no problems arise, wish me luck.
