    Hi,
I'm not at all familiar with amd processors at 1.80Ghz and being a quad core ?
Might be okay just a tad under powered

I'd look through the reviews of the supplier since it's not sold and shipped by amazon
Get as good a warranty as you can budget for :)

The AMD A4 is slooww. With AMD you have to go with an A10 for halfway decent performance. I would be looking for Intel and at least an i3.

Thanks a lot you two☺☺ I just have not the slightest idea I must admit. Only things I know are : I have a little butget, want for sure Windows 7, really would love to buy new and not refurbished, will not buy on EBay. If I can find decent laptop in Germany the sending costs will be zero or non. I think with my many pictures I need 4 GB or more.
Had really some bad luck lately ( financially ) and feel terrible without a computer. I know if sounds silly, we used to live our lives without them very happily. Now it is my liveline to the world !
I don't have a telly do all my info by laptop. Now by smartphone. My eyes go funny but at least I am getting to know this phone now.
There are much worse thinks in live. I will keep searching but cannot afford a mistake.

Your amount of pictures does not rule the size of RAM - it is the size of the disk space you need. But e.g. 500GB go a long way. That is room for 20 to 50 Million pictures. So I would not worry about that. And you can always add an external disk.

I am sure you have many more interesting things in live than seven forums, but ....... the space thread is good! Go have a look. A new discovery and my mate Einstein was again RIGHT !!!!!

    My advice Thelma ?

Do not buy a Dell laptop, and do not buy a refurbished laptop.

Refurbished may mean nothing. It is sometimes only because someone opened the original packaging. But that you don't know. You may end up with a beat up bummer.

True refurbisched is iffy, that's also why I am waiting. Getting some more dosh together. But why not Dell ? They are very sturdy and last ages that's why all the big offices buy them. I am not into gaming of any real geeky stuff.
