Keyboard and mouse freeze up intermittently

Hello, I am helping somebody with this issue, which is a very odd issue. Her keyboard and mouse will both stop working at random times, there is no pattern to it, just complete random. I can connect to her machine remotely, and I am able to move the mouse, open new programs, and type, however she can do none of these things; she is able to see what I am doing though.
I have: Checked for updates on the mouse and keyboard drivers, ran malware scans, restarted the machine, disabled the USB sleep option, switch usb ports on the machine, and still no luck!
The keyboard is a wireless, but the mouse is not and they both stop working at the same time. The system is Win 7 Pro x64 Dell Optiplex 3010

    Welcome to the forums silentstormcc!

How long has this be happening? You could try a system restore if its relatively recent and you have restore points before it started. Have you considered a system file check? I'll link to a tutorial on how to do that if you haven't before at the end of this post. Have you been to Dells support/diagnostic page? Theres many online diagnostics there. You might find some help there :

We have many excellent and easy to follow tutorials here at the forums, heres one on how to do a system file check :

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
