That`s an easy one, the Celeron of course.

Upgrade your cpu to best one you can afford, post a link to your motherboard and I`ll research it for you.

You also need to add memory.

You could put a core 2 quad in that or a core 2 duo with a 1333 MHz FSB, that will really improve performance, but you just can`t slap either of those cpu`s in there, you have to find out exactly which models the motherboard will work with.

Core 2 Quads and Core 2 Duo`s can be found all over Ebay very cheap.

I have an E8200 Core 2 Duo I would glady give you, but you are all the way over there

And you should really have 4 GB of PC2-6400 DDR2 memory in there, that will help too.

    Example:

    G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ - Newegg.com

I think the Core2 Duo E8600 is the best Core 2 Duo Intel made, I had one but sold it on Ebay awhile back.

There`s no way I could honestly answer that question, only the manufacturer of the motherboard will know for sure.

But you find one cheap and take a chance, you put it in and if you see the bios on the screen you know it works :)

The spec sheet says (E21xx series) but I think they are just talking about the Pentium Dual core, because I can`t find any Core 2 Duo E21xx series at all, so there probably is no such thing.

There was/is a E4xxx series, an E6xxx series, an E7xxx series, and a E8xxx series, so you see how many versions there are, and you have to find out exactly which version your board supports.

OK, I clicked on cpu in the link that barman posted and it brings up all the supported cpu`s.

    ECS > G31T-M7 (V1.0)

And all these Core 2 Duo are supported, so yes the E8400 will work, but I`d get the E8600

    Hi,
I went from a E5200 dual core to a Q9550 quad without flashing the bios
All I did was enter the bios and use F9 to optimize defaults and see if the system clock reset if not F10 to save and exit.
Everything worked and the system reflected the new cpu so does the bios :)

The only challenge was getting a stable cpu from Amazon venders
Took 3 and 2 different venders to get but third times the charm so don't forget the added Insurance policy 2year.

The best vender I got a stable cpu from was from Digiconcepts first 1 worked and stable 4-5c difference in core temps :)

First vender from Amazon was etaratech and 2 attempts and both were 14c difference in core temperatures
