USB Desktop Fan is making my Microsoft Wired Mouse Lag

The desktop USB fan I am using when turned on has started to cause the mouse cursor to lag. I would like to know what the reason is behind this.

Should I just get a new mouse?

I suspect that the USB fan may be overloading the USB port. I would connect it to a powered USB hub.

You might also try connecting it to another USB port.

It was not having this problem with a previous mouse, I have tried other ports and the same thing happens.

I found out the culprit, I had the plug my USB fan into the USB port on the back of the computer!
