Did a chkdsk on a drive, now MIA

Hey friends. I'll try and keep it short and simple.

One of my drives - the 'F' drive - was having CRC errors so I figured I'd give it a better examination yesterday, and it seemed to be fine. If fixed a few errors, and for a 1 TB drive, I was surprised at how little was damaged. It took a while to go through scanning it, but it seemed fine. However, once I rebooted the PC, the drive went missing. I cannot see it under Device Manager nor My Computer, yet the drive is seen by the BIOS.

I figure I'd ask you lot what I should do to try and restore it. I can accept it being dead, but I'd like to know for sure if it's dead before I go out and get a new one, so I'd like to troubleshoot and see if there's an error that needs to be fixed to solve this.

Check in disk management and assign a drive letter.

I don't see it there. There's just C and an exteral, but not the drive I am looking for.

Try disconnecting and then reconnecting it.

While the PC is on, or off?

Because if off, I've already done this.

If it is on. The idea is to get a new interrupt from the device. It is a long shot but does not cost any for trying.

I tried that and no dice, sadly.
