    HP Z420 now with 2GB X 3 = 6GB .. need to add another 8GB single RAM


    Hi There

    My client to have HP Z420 currently with 2GB X 3 = total of 6GB

    Now. I was asked to upgrade to 14GB with a single 8GB ram slot the client have already purchased.

    What is the best RAM configuration in here with 8 RAM SLOTS accd to HP documentation.

    can someone pls. guide me which slot should have which ram slot etc.

    Are you saying that you have a total of four RAM sticks to work with: 8, 2, 2, and 2GB? If so, this Service and Maintenance manual http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmc...04205252-1.pdf
    suggests that you put the RAM sticks in the order shown in the attached picture.

Got a quick question. My brother got a old PC running nVidia 250 SLI. And i got a AMD 6950 that i aint using. So he asked me if it would be an upgrade for him to use the single 6950 card insted of the 250 SLI cards? What do you guys think? would he get a performance boost in games with the 6950.
