Sudden Power off

Hey
My PC shuts down randomly when playing GTAV,sometimes during the day it can stay on for 2-3 hours without going off,sometimes lets say during the same hour it shuts down every time i start the game (like 1 minute or 5 after loading the game) and sometimes it never shuts down like it has it's own mind,so far i have tried the following:

Checked all cables.
Removed DRAM's(have 16GB,used only 2 then switched with the other 2).
Removed OC profile in BIOS.
Disabled Anti surge from BIOS and used a power plug protector(electricity is very stable)
3 clean OS install.
Tried different Nvida driver versions including all settings.
Everything is up to date.
Cleaned all components.
Tried another wall power point.
Changed the cable connector between the wall and PC.
Non heat issues.

This is what i see after the shutdown

"Power supply surges detected during the previous power on.
Asus Anti-surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply unit!
Press F1 to Run Setup"

The way it shuts off is as if someone pulled the plug out of the wall,i've posted about this some time ago thinking that the issue is gone but it has come back now,is there any way to fiind out the cuase for this ? thanks.

Foolish is to think that means a defect comes and goes. A defect exists constantly. Defective hardware can still boot and run a computer. Then cause strange intermittent failures months or year later. Observation alone will never identify that defect.

Same applies to a word 'surge'. A surge can be a low current, a burst of harmonics, lightning, a low DC voltage, too much current on a USB port, etc. 'Surge' is a misnomer to describe most any anomaly. The word is subjective. So it says almost nothing useful.

Solutions begin with exonerating the power 'system'. PSU is only one component of a power 'system'. Power controller decides when your hardware can power on or off. IOW a power controller acts as if someone pulled the plug out of the wall. Only numbers from a meter can identify why. Replacing a defective part is long after a defect is first identified. That means using some requested instructions and a digital meter to perform minutes of labor. Those posted numbers then means someone who really knows hardware can identify or exonerate suspects - without speculation.

This is getting really weird,plugged my USB drive and started to install Black ops 3 then during browsing the internet it went off,then it restarted and it turned off on the Windows logo screen,had to remove the USB drive,help!

Sounds to me like you might have a suspect power supply. Is there one that you can borrow to temporarily replace yours to see if the problem clears up?

That would be the first thing I would try to resolve the issue.

Hi VXER, I got your message so I will make a few suggestions.

Power surges or momentary loss of power can cause computer to shut down. Surge protectors do help with power surges but they don't help with a momentary power loss. The only thing that will do that is a Uninterruptable Power Supply or UPS.

Problems with your PSU can be hard to isolate, so try another PSU if you can.

Motherboard problems that could have been caused by power surges or a faulty PSU.

Replace Hard Drive to motherboard Sata cables & check all electrical connections to motherboard & hard drives.

VXER you have got some very good informative help.

I would also suggest that you one again check all wire and harness routing.

The problem you had before could of caused damage that at times will show it's ugly head.

Something like this can cause problems to just about anything. Two things that come to mind are the power supply and motherboard.

Was already explained. A defect exists constantly. Defective hardware can still boot and run a computer. Then cause strange intermittent failures months or year later. In your case, a defect maybe eight months ago is now causing more frequent failures - and getting worse.

Observation (from your posts) cannot identify a defect. Only speculation (ie a PSU) is possible. Power controller determines what will be observed. Only numbers using meter and requested instructions enable a useful reply that explains what that controller is doing - and why.

Problems created by intermittent AC power, motherboard, transients, PSU, etc are easily identified immediately. But only if those numbers are provided. Otherwise keep replacing good parts on 'it could be' speculation until something apparently works right.

@ VXER. This seems similar to the problem you had last year & the solution you found was to straighten the bent pins on your CPU & a repair a faulty LED.

As this sounds very much the same sort of problem I would be having a look there again to make sure the CPU is plugged in properly & the LEDs are working properly.. Also remove any over clocking as well.

Hey guys,just a fast replay since I'm at work ( i'll be sure to come back and reply to each comment)
@Ranger4 I've bought a new Motherboard

(Asus MAXIMUS VII RANGER z97) so i don't have the bent pins issue no more,also it seems i have forgotten to mention that i did test the PC without any LEDS ON and it still went off,yes as i have mentioned OC profiles have been disabled but didn't help.
