W7 trying to boot from USB HD... Grrrr...

I have three external USB 2.5" HDs where I keep my movies and TV series personal collection. Since they are an extension of my desktop I keep them all connected all the time.

The problem is that there is something weird with one of them that really annoys me. Every time I start my computer I have to unplug it otherwise it will try to boot from it.

I have searched on Google and I found several articles teaching how to make an external USB bootable, but not how to prevent it!

Any clue of what may be causing it? Thanks!

    :)

There may be a setting in your computer bios that needs to be turned off. Look for an usb boot option and disable the usb boot.

OK, it was really quick and easy to solve. The problem WAS in the BIOS. Actually my BIOS was a weird mess. I have two SSD inside my computer plus an old HDD that used to be my boot disk ages ago. Strangely the BIOS was pointing to the HDD as my primary boot disk and to my DVD-RAM as secondary (no USB drive assigned to boot at all).

When I disabled the HDD and pointed the primary boot to the SSD the computer just stopped to boot. WTF?!?! Then I entered the BIOS again and the boot was assigned to nothing (disabled). So I set it up again to the SSD, reset the machine and the boot came back to life and the best of all... the attempts to boot with the connected USB drive just vanished!

    Well, problem solved!

PS: Very glad since I have a fourth USB drive in the mail coming home this week...
