    USB mouse randomly freezes, lags

This problem first occured a couple months ago. In the beginning it happend 3-4 times a week but as time went by it sarted to freeze more and more. It's really frustrating and I'm not able to fix it. I've tried everything but nothing seems to work. I tried other USB ports, I tried to disable the power saving option in the device manager, I tried to reinstall the drivers and I read lots of threads with this topic, but it keeps doing this extremely annoying thing. But what exactly? I'm either browsing the internet or playing a game, the mouse stops, and then I hear the windows sound as if something is disconnected, but a couple seconds later it works again. Rarely it stays 'dead' but pulling out the cable and pushing it back into the USB port fixes it. Then it starts over and over again. Sometimes it occurs 4-5 times a minute(!!!!!) but sometimes it works fine for more than an hour. Maybe reinstalling the windows would fix the problem but that's the last thing I want to do because I have a lot of things installed and installing them again is really time consuming. I even tried another USB mouse but nothing changed. So I think my mouse is NOT the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance...

Hi it could be that the usb controller is faulty on the motherboard. aslo I would like to test something might sound silly but try removing the graphics card and use onboard graphics to see if you still get the same issue.

Did you see if your motherboard has updated drivers or BIOS update available?

I had a similar problem with my mouse. The solution was to move the mouse receiver or dongle away from the computer case. I had a 1 ft. USB extension cable around the house and used that. The problem completely went away. I read somewhere that the frequency of the cpu interferes with the frequency of the mouse. Hope it helps.

I just noticed that you have an ASRock H77 motherboard. That is the same motherboard I have and the same computer that was giving me trouble with the mouse.

Hey everyone. The mouse seems to have fixed itself somehow. I did nothing and one day the problem just disappeared. It's been working fine for a week.

Have you changed any software recently? Possibly could have been some software installed which was making the mouse lag. Sometime a specific type of software which is heavy on resources could cause systems to lag. But, if it's fixed then all good!
