The two SATA ports from a Marvel chip do not have hot swap available. All ports do have AHCI, though.
Are you just saying that there's no hot swap option in the BIOS, or that you've confirmed hot plugged drives are not detected by the OS?

Oh good grief! There is no hot swap option for the two Marvel chip SATA ports in the BIOS. The MOBO manual doesn't show a hot swap option for those ports, either. The one drive I have connected to one of the two Marvel chip SATA ports shows up as removable storage. If I unplug that drive or eject it, I have to reboot the computer to get it back. It is preset to AHCI; the only RAID option is to allow using an SSD in one port to cache a HDD in the other port.
