    Windows 7 on skylake CPU

Ive read that Lga1151 usb 2.0 port will not work on windows 7 during installation. So it means it will only work on usb3.0 during installing OS.

Ive also read that you can only install it using dvd drive.

My question is that after installing win7 using dvd drive. Will the usb 2.0 work after?

Most motherboard manufacturers have a workaround for the USB 2.0 issue--such as a BIOS setting or a way to inject the proper drivers into a Windows 7 ISO.

It's not true that you can install only from a DVD. I did not use a DVD when I rebuilt 2 months ago.

Yes, your USB 2.0 ports will work later.

You`ve got it backwards, the 2.0 ports work fine, it`s the 3.0 ports that do not work because there are no drivers for them in the windows 7 installer.

You simply use Asus EZ Installer software to create an installer with usb 3.0 drivers integrated, the program does everything for you., That is if all you have are 3.0 ports.

Of course you will have to install usb 3.0 drivers after you`re done installing windows, as was always the case with any windows 7 install.

And of course using the dvd has always been the simplest method.
