You need to back up all your data so you can install Windows on it.

Hey, I just looked at your BIOS picture again. Your CPU temp is too high. Not critical, but just too high.

If you didn't clean the old thermal paste off and apply new paste, yes, you need to do that. We can give you good instructions of how to do it right.
You said your sata cables are too short. If that is the case, you have no choice.

Everyone needs an external hard drive to hold backups. It is really a must. The question isn't whether your hard drive will go bad, but it is when will it go bad. They all do eventually. Without backups, you will lose everything. Been there, done that.

A good brand of thermal paste, Noctua, Arctic silver, Artic MX or similar will cost about $10. About the same or less for a sata cable. You can buy a 1TB hard drive for $40-45. If your data is not worth that to you, don't buy one. I don't know how much personal files you have, but you could put it on DVD drives, I guess. But, that is not nearly as safe as a hard drive. It's really up to you

Your HP operating system, if that is what you intend to use, will not activate on the new motherboard. The systems that come with those computers are for that computer (Motherboard) only. Sometimes you can call Microsoft and they can help you out, if they decide to.
