hm...downloading an ISO of the RTM and extracting the files to perform the repair install is a way...

Reinstalling the entire OS from scratch is another (probably not desired)

Did you try Safe Mode? If you can "see" the DVD in Safe mode, then its a corrupted driver issue, and a simple driver download will fix it.

I've tried to boot both in Safe Mode can Clean Boot, but DVD still is not appearing on the Device Manager.

I FOUND THE SOLUTION, GUYS!!!

I checked out other sites, and I saw one, these were the steps that I had to do:

  1. Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > Right click Command Prompt > Run as administrator.
  2. Paste the following line into the Command Prompt window and hit Enter

    bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
  3. Restart the computer.
After I restarted, I checked on Computer... and VIOLA! My DVD drive is back!

It might be fixed but this has me a bit worried...

That flag is in check to detect that the hardware is alright at boot (I believe)...this is a safeguard and I still recommend that you backup and do a clean install

I haven't used it a great deal, but I've had no trouble with MagicISO 5.5 build 274 under Win7 X64.

(I haven't tried the slightly newer build 276.)

i'm not sure of it's compatibility. but i did use the older version of MagicISO (the one that was for Vista), which may have caused the issue.

it's always better to be safe then sorry. so i'll probably not use MagicISO for awhile. (that's just me)

I've got MagicIso installed - no problem here.

The separate virtual drive I don't use.

It seems to interfere with my other virtual drives.

D: Drive Not detected, Cannot install driver on an undetected drive
So I'm at my parent's house this weekend and I go to load a program on their computer. Auto play didn't run the disc so I went to My Computer to manually run it, however there is no D: Drive shown. I went to system properties-Disk Drives and there was the warning sign next to the D drive...

Improper CD name after burning through MagicISO
I made an image file using MagicISO and renamed it to what I wanted the CD to be called. Then I burned that image file using Magic onto a blank CD-RW. When I pop the disc in a computer the name of the CD is a bunch of random numbers. How do I change the name of the CD?

MagicISO
Personally I've tried MagicISO x64 on Windows 7 Beta x64 and the OS starts failing until I can't open anything or even startup. But I've read that some people have been able to get it to work? Any help or any other programs people might suggest?
