Print Queue Question
So while working as the print administrator for a large healthcare company, I had a big wig come to me expressing concern over a "vulnerability" with their network printers. So when he right clicks on a network printer on his computer, he selects "see what's printing" and can see the jobs that are in the print queue for that printer that are waiting to be printed. Now keep in mind, most times you can only see this if there is an issue with the printer not printing, such as if it's jammed or out of ink, or if there are too many secure print jobs eating up the printer memory and backing up the print jobs onto the print server.
We have several users who don't understand that after they send these secure print jobs to the printer, they need to go release them in a timely manner so as not to eat up the memory of the printer.
So his issue is, anyone can select "see what's printing" on these network printers and see the jobs sitting in the queue and can delete any print job from there. I have been looking to see if there is an option to turn that off, but so far I cannot locate anything of this nature. Can you disable the "see what's printing" feature?
