Acer Aspire touchpad scroll not working

I love this forum and have found a ton of useful information but this is my first time posting.

So I have an Acer Aspire ES1-512-P18H laptop that came stock with Windows 10. I deleted the partition and installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 in legacy mode with a USB flash drive. I then installed most of my drivers and noticed that the scroll function on the keypad was not working.

I went to Acer Aspire ES1-512 Drivers Download for Windows 10, 8.1, 7, Vista, XP and downloaded the "Mouse and Touchpad Driver" which is an Elantech driver. No luck.

I then uninstalled said driver and downloaded the Synaptics "Windows 8/7/XP/Vista 64/32-bit Edition v17.0.19" driver from Software Drivers | White Papers | Videos | Synaptics. Again, no luck.

I did some more research and found this article Solved: Aspire e15 (e5-511-p9y3) Touchpad not working on w... - Acer Community - 277578 and attempted to install Windows 7 in UEFI mode with Secure Boot off. I deleted the Windows 7 partition to not cause any issues and to perform a clean install on a blank partition. The Windows files would load and then hang at the windows logo screen when it says "Starting Windows."

I then did some more research and found this to be a common problem when installing Windows 7 on systems made for win8/10 using UEFI.

At this point I do not know what to do. I believe if I was able to install Windows 7 on a GTP partition using UEFI, my touchpad would work correctly. I think the problem is the Legacy mode doesn't mesh with the touchpad hardware and/or drivers.

I just reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate x64 again in Legacy mode because it seems to function fine, minus the scroll feature on the touchpad. It just sees the touchpad as a standard P/S2 mouse.

Any ideas or suggestions for both installing Win 7 in UEFI or getting the touchpad to install correctly in Legacy? Thanks for your time and support.

After trying 20+ drivers from ALPS, Synaptics and ElanTech I have found the solution! Download this cabinet file
    403 Forbidden
and extract/copy the contents to a folder of your choosing. Run the Setup and voila! You have a fully functioning touchpad.

This worked for the ETD050A touchpad used in my Acer Aspire ES1-512-P18H with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installed via USB stick in Legacy mode.

Hope this helps anyone else with the same problem when downgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 7.
