SSD Partition failed, deleted, now unallocated and can`t be formatted.

A 250 gb partition in my 500GB Corsair Force LS SSD ATA hd stopped working.

I have decided to reinstall windows (win 7 pro sp1 64bit), deleting/merging the faulty partiotion.
In the installation proccess, I succeeded in the deletion of the partition,
but to my surprise, the list showed me 2 options of drives to intall to; a 250gb (my c: drive)
and a 476GB option. (750GB drive?! surly somthings wrong if the system/hd can't understand that the two options are of the same drive and actually make up 500gb total)...

After intalling, under disk managment, I tried to create a new simple volume out of the 476gb of unallocated space and succeeded but failed formating it (saying "windows was unable to complete the format").

    what can i do?
how can I restore my HD to its 500gm state?

Any help would be greatly appriciated!

    Welcome to our forum tom36

The first place I would start is removing the stated 465 gb drive (Disk 1) and inspect the label for the correct part # and size.

After verifying the correct size of the Drive I would do this tutorial by Brink on the troubled drive.

    Disk Check
